H1N1 preventative basics – short & sweet

I feel like I might have swine flu; maybe I should stay home

Are there ways to prevent the spread of th H1N1 influenza virus?

Take everyday actions to stay healthy:

– When available, get a flu shot.
– Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze.
– Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.
– If you don’t have a tissue, cough or sneeze into your creased elbow rather than in your hands…Also known as  Dracula style!
– Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze.
– Alcohol-based hands cleaners are also effective……I really like my alcohol-based hand cleansers!
– Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread that way.
Stay home if you get sick……..THANK YOU!
CDC recommends that you stay home from work or school and limit contact with others to keep from infecting them.
– Avoid shaking hands.
– Don’t share water bottles or other drinking items.
– Clean door knobs and other heavily touched surfaces with a mild bleach.
– Avoid crowds, crowded sleeping conditions and take other social distancing measures.
